Mint Walk Anti-Social Behaviour: Parish Requests Special Meeting and Lights Back On

Many readers will be aware that a very expensive new piece of equipment has been vandalised and put out of use at the Mint Walk Playground. In addition residents of Mint Walk and nearby Boxwood Way have suffered from anti–social behaviour from youngsters going to and from the Recreation Ground including excessive noise, threatening behaviour and dangerous driving.

The Parish Council has written to Tandridge Council asking what measures it intends to take to protect the equipment once repaired, and has been advised that Surrey Police is putting together an enforcement team to address the situation. Following direct representations from residents at its last meeting the Parish Council has invited Tandridge officers and the Police to a meeting including affected residents to discuss what can be done to stop the anti-social behaviour. It is also writing to Surrey to ask for the streetlights to be put back on after midnight in Mint Walk, as darkness is exacerbating the problems.
