Warlingham Parish Council was shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden death of Parish Councillor Gill Woods while on holiday in Australia in January. Gill was first elected for the East ward in 2012 and then re-elected in 2016. She was an energetic councillor who was particularly committed to Warlingham Library, playing a leading role in its transformation into a Community Partnered Library in 2013 and serving on its management committee ever since. She also sat on the Planning Committee, the Remembrance Day Committee and the World War One Commemoration Committee and represented the Council at Hamsey Green Sure Start Centre, reflecting her keen interest in the well-being of children. She was a long-standing resident of Warlingham and a retired teacher.

We offer our commiserations and sympathy to her husband Dick and their family.

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Wednesday 4 April at 7.30 in Warlingham Library.
