One of the Parish Council’s core aims is to protect and enhance Warlingham’s environment, and in recent years it has organised regular litter picks on the Common Land it owns at the southern entrance to the Village and the planting of bulbs on public land adjacent to roads.
On 7 October councillors and other volunteers were again out on the Common Land picking up litter and filling numerous bags for collection by Tandridge Council. As usual the activity was organised by Councillor Anna Patel who said: “ I was very pleased by the turnout – we even ran out of litter pickers, which meant that we completed the work more quickly than usual”.
In November it is intended to plant daffodil bulbs around the base of the Warlingham gateway signs on Farleigh, Limpsfield and Westhall roads. The date will be agreed at the next Council meeting and advertised via the normal channels.
