Tandridge Council has now published the Draft Local Plan which sets out proposed development control policies and allocations of land for housing development up to 2033. The document includes four sites in the parish of Warlingham to be removed from the Green Belt and built on.
These are: i) the former Shelton Sport Ground; ii) the John Fisher and Greenacres sports grounds - to include a new primary school relocated from Farleigh Road; iii) the land enclosed by Green Hill Lane, Chelsham Road and Alexandra Avenue; iv) a parcel of land behind Boxwood Way. These sites together are estimated to provide 400 homes. Several other sites included in the earlier Sites Consultation process including Kennel Farm Field have not been allocated.
There will be a public consultation on the Plan from 30 July to 10 September, and residents are encouraged to respond using one of the mechanisms provided. The documents are available on the Tandridge website and Warlingham Library, and there are helpful fact sheets summarising the proposals for Warlingham incorporating maps and planned infrastructure improvements.
The Parish Council will be having a special meeting in late August to agree its own response
