The owners of Kennel Farm, a collection of charities, have approached the Parish Council asking for its support for the building of houses on the Kennel Farm Field in return for leaving part of the Field open for public recreation.

The Parish Council has rejected the proposal and strongly reasserted its view that Kennel Farm is  important Green Belt land, forming a strategic buffer between Warlingham and Chelsham, as confirmed  in the Green Belt Assessment undertaken as part of the work on the emerging Tandridge Local Plan.

As well as firmly opposing building on this land, the Council asked the owners to re-open the longstanding public access to it, but this request was rejected. The Council is considering the practicalities of trying to establish that there are historic rights of way over the land which can be legally enforced.

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Wednesday 5th September at 7.30 in Warlingham Library.
