Blanchmans Road suffers from a lack of parking spaces which leads to residents parking on some of the grass verges damaging the grass and detracting from the appearance of the road.

The Parish Council has recently reached agreement with Surrey County Council to install a new parking bay accommodating four vehicles to replace one section of unsightly grass verge. This is located between the Farm Road and Lime Grove junctions.

The work will be undertaken by the end of March and will be jointly funded by Surrey and the Parish Council.

Councillor Simon Morrow, Chairman of the Parish Council, said: “I’m very pleased that Surrey and the Parish have been able to work together on this, and thank County Councillor David Hodge for assigning part of his councillor highways allocation to be used as the Parish thought best. Although this is only a small piece of work I believe it will make a material difference to the appearance of Blanchmans Road”.
