Surrey Country Council is consulting on proposals to close the Bond Road Recycling Centre and the Childrens Centre in Tithepit Shaw Lane, as part of five consultations to change services in the face of ongoing extreme pressures on Council finances.
The Parish Council will be responding to the consultations on CRCs and Childrens Centres and urges residents to send in their individual responses, and to lobby our county councillor David Hodge.
The Council has already agreed it will strongly oppose the closure of the Bond Road CRC as it did last year, when Surrey agreed to keep it open with reduced opening hours. The Council sees this as a vital service to residents whose withdrawal will generate more fly tipping and cause great inconvenience to residents who will have to travel to the already congested Chaldon Road facility.
The consultations last until 4 January and residents can read the papers online at surreycc.gov.uk/consultations or in Warlingham Library and complete the response forms provided.
