Residents may be aware that Surrey County Council had proposed to close the Bond Road Recycling Centre (CRC) in March , alongside three other smaller centres in Surrey, in order to save money, but that as a result of strong representations made, including by the Parish Council, it has been agreed to keep it open until the end of September, while attempts are made to identify the targeted savings elsewhere.

On a lovely Spring day, Wednesday April 14th, the bench purchased by the Parish Council in memory of Councillor Gill Woods was formally unveiled in the presence of a large group of parish councillors, Library volunteers and others.

Parish Council Chairman Simon Morrow and Library Volunteer Coordinator Tina Picanza spoke of the critical role Gill played in the creation and running of Warlingham Community Library, and her husband Dick recalled her dedication to keeping the Library open and its ongoing success.

Residents will no doubt be aware that Surrey County Council has proposed moving Warlingham Village School from its position in Farleigh Road to a new location on the Greenacres site in Limpsfield Road north of The Green, enabling the expansion of the School to a two or three rather than one form entry and the provision of more modern facilities and a playing field which it doesn't currently have.
