As a result of the Resident Consultation on the Green Improvement Plan undertaken in March and April a number of changes are to be made. The Consultation incorporated three sessions at Warlingham Library, where the plans were displayed alongside illustrative photos and samples and councillors were available to talk to residents, and the publication of the plans on the parish website. Forms were provided for comment, and 36 responses were received by the extended deadline of 22 April.

Inadequate enforcement of the parking restrictions particularly in and around Warlingham Green is a longstanding issue which causes much annoyance to shopkeepers and residents alike.This includes motorists overstaying beyond the one hour restriction, parking in the disabled bays outside the Co-op and the Library, and parking on yellow lines. Overstaying is a big issue for our shopkeepers, as it prevents potential customers parking and loses them trade, so is a direct threat to the prosperity of our village centre. There are also issues outside our schools and near the sports clubs on Sunday morning.

The Parish Council has just completed a consultation with retailers and other businesses located on or close to The Green, aimed at finding out their views on current business conditions, key issues and how they would like to see the Green develop. The intention was to provide the Council with information which it can take account of both in progressing the Green Improvement Project and in influencing the activities that take place on and around The Green.
